CES did glimpse about a 10 per hundred falls in exhibitors with 2,700, down from 3,000 last year. In part, that's because the lead time for evolving new goods intended most were well along before the finances went south. It's expected that next year's CES could glimpse a larger influence from the recession.

Palm drew allotments of vigilance when it revealed its new smartphone, the Pre, which sports a large touch screen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Yahoo called it the "clear winner" of best of display at CES, characterizing it as "a smartphone that's actually going to give Apple a run for its money ... supplied Palm and Sprint don't attach up in the ninth inning and cost it way overhead what persons are eager and adept to pay."
